We have 1923 Craftsman with a detached garage. Tyler came out in Nov 2017 to give us an estimate. It was in the ballpark of 3 other estimates and we went with SORP. We scheduled for the first week in June and they finished the job in 5 days. We had three colors, and there was a lot of prep for them. The supervisor of the crew, did a great job of keeping us informed of progress; he was on-site and available. The crew came and began at 7:30 sharp every morning, indicating their presence with a knock on the door. 

I had only positive interactions with the crew. They are very hard workers, and well organized about their labor (from my experience as an exterior painter). One guy seems to really like what he called, "good weather for a painter." Clean-up was excellent, and even three days after the final walk-through they came out to fix some stuff I saw. Finally, SORP's work comes with a three year guarantee. Overall, we were very impressed and we are very satisfied.

I got 4 bids to paint our house. Shades of Rose was not only priced well, but the information they gave about their prep process on our 1928 home was comforting given what I'd researched about lead safety. (A couple of the contractors I spoke to, who said they were lead certified, said they would pressure wash the house before starting, whereas Shades of Rose made clear they would be hosing down the house without using pressure, as is recommended). Tyler handled the bid process and came back in person to answer questions, and was friendly and available for questions in the intervening months between signing the contract and doing the work. Justin managed the process once painting started, but Tyler checked in daily to make sure everything was going as planned. The whole team was super efficient and friendly, and they were very flexible about some other construction we had going on that prevented them from working on part of our house. We are so happy with our "new" house!

Where to start? 

The initial friendly contact with Tyler? The professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency with which Justin and his crew worked? The fact that a thorough clean-up was done at the end of each day? Maybe the spot-on punctuality? Perhaps the fact that I asked mid-stream whether the foundation could be added to the job and was green-lighted without hesitation? Or maybe that after telling Justin we didn't need our (previous) hot tub hooks and shelves painted but changed our mind once everything was done Tyler came out the next day and painted them as we wished - at no additional charge? How about the fact that our 50 year-old house looks amazing and is easily now one of the best-looking houses on the block? 

No, what our experience really boils down to is exemplary customer service. Something taken for granted many years ago and now relatively rare. And for which I will go out of my way even if it means paying more. 

Everybody - and I mean everybody, top to bottom - that was involved on our house painting project was polite, attentive, professional, friendly, efficient, and displayed strong work ethics start to finish. 

After being referred to Shades of Rose by valued friends for whom they had painted two houses, we didn't need to look any further. 

No regrets. Not one. Nada. Zero. 

I HIGHLY recommend Shades of Rose Painting and will be employing them on any future painting projects. As well, recommending them every chance I get.
